On December 12, 2008, Bangladesh Awami League announced in their election manifesto that Bangladesh will become 'Digital Bangladesh' in 50 years of independence in 2021. A developed country, rich digital society, population of a digital era, transformed production system, new knowledge based economy, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has shown the dream of forming a knowledge based society Digital Bangladesh is the first step to establish a knowledge-based society. Digital Bangladesh will fulfill our dream of achieving prosperity and better life for the next generation through the Great War of 1971. 'Bangladesh Computer Samity' organized the first summit on 'Digital Bangladesh Summit' in 17 to 12 November 2009, in order to establish the foundation of digital Bangladesh and prioritized issues.
